All Direct Transfer Routes From Fukuoka Airport (FUK)
FUK
5 min
Fukuoka Airport is world-renowned as one of the closest major airports to a city center. The Fukuoka City Subway Kuko Line takes just 5 minutes to JR Hakata Station (¥260) and 11 minutes to Tenjin (¥260). If arriving at the International Terminal, you can take the free 10-minute terminal shuttle to the subway station, or take the direct Nishitetsu bus straight to Hakata Station (15 min, ¥310).
Terminals & Station Layout
FUK has separate Domestic and International Terminals on opposite sides of the runway. Free, frequent terminal shuttle buses run every 5–8 minutes connecting international arrivals to the domestic subway station.
Taxi Rules & Scams to Avoid
No scams exist in Fukuoka. All taxis are metered and polite. Because the airport is so close to downtown, a taxi from international arrivals straight to Hakata only costs ¥1,500–¥2,000 ($10–$13 USD).
Late-Night Arrivals (After Midnight)
Fukuoka has a strict 22:00 runway curfew, so late-night arrivals do not occur. Subway services run until midnight.
